Cumberland – main

Posted · Add Comment

The original mid-Victorian Cumberland Inn was replaced when the present building was opened on September 29th 1930.
It was designed by Harry Redfern and built by J&R Bell of Carlisle. Redfern commemorated the builders with a stained glass rebus in six of the windows in the mixed first class bar on the first floor. It is the least altered of all Redfern’s designs for the Scheme.
